Actions

An Action consists of a set of Steps. Actions should cover the overall task that is accomplished by completing a set of Steps. For example, "Fill in Login Form", "Update Settings", and "Transfer from Brokerage Account" are the types of tasks that would be relevent as Actions.

Creating an Action

Step 1

Actions can be created from the profile page of a Test. From the Tests's profile page, click on the "New Action" button.

Step 2

Fill out the "New Action" form to create your Action.

Field Description
Title The title of the action.
Description A breif description fo the action.
Filter Host A comma delimited list of network hosts. Only requests tofrom the hosts will be checked by Rules and Conditions. This can be used to ignore non-relevent requests and speed up the amount of time that a action takes.
Examples: example.com, owasp.org, nist.gov
Filter Path A comma delimited list of paths. Only requests with paths that contain the values entered will be checked by Rules and Conditions. This can be used to ignore non-relevent requests and speed up the amount of time that a action takes.
Examples: /home, /api/vi, /forms/transfer

Running an Action

Running a Action will initiate the browser action and/or raw HTTP requests in each Step that is part of the Action in sequential order.

Step 1

To run a Action, click the "Run Action" button on the Action profile page.

Results can be viewed on the Action profile page after the Run is comlete and the data has been processed.

Results from the Run can also be viewed in the Run Report

Step 1

Save the set of browser actions as a '.step' file.

Step 2

Add these steps to an Action by selecting "Import Steps" from the options drop-down menu on an Action profile page.

Step 3

Upload the '.step' tile to add the browser actions as Steps to the Action.
